Firearms News Profile

Firearms News (formerly Shotgun News) has been published since 1946. 70 years later they finally got around to covering Tactical Rx, and boy was it worth the wait.

When you devote your entire company one thing, and in the case of Bret (whom the article profiles in depth) your entire professional life to one pursuit, it sure is nice when that one pursuit is recognized as being great. Or it’s nice when someone writes that your “glasses are a gamechanger”. (Because really, who doesn’t want to change games?) Or when the lenses that you crafted by hand are in the pages of one of the leading industry magazines? Or when there you are on page 35 of Issue 7 shaking hands with one of the most respected firearm journalists in the world?

The article, written by Mr. David Fortier, clearly identifies one of our most popular prescription shooting lenses, the Almost Lens, an inverted shooting bifocal designed to help crisp up the front sights for people who have some trouble seeing up close. We make no claims to have invented this lens concept, which originated as an inverted bifocal for occupational use, but we do claim to make it exceptionally well and to have tailored it specifically for the needs of shooters. Mr. Fortier takes the time to explain the entire process, how we select frames, how we send out frames and how the marking process for the custom placement of the bifocal happens. In his case, we also made a concealed carry set of eyewear, with the shooting bifocal up above his dominant eye and a traditional lined bifocal down low, in his non-dominant eye. We made this in a clear, fashionable, everyday frame that would still give him the ability to see clear, crisp sights in a set of good looking Rx shooting glasses.

Needless to say, we’re honored for the recognition and we’re also hoping this exposure helps us reach new customers and get our lenses in front of more eyes. It’s the one thing we do, and we’re proud to do it right. There are images of the pages below, or head to your local newsstand/bookstore/airport/gas station/Walmart/other fine establishments and pick up a copy of your own until March 7th. It’s $3.99 and worth every penny. We picked up a few.
